The important geopolitical position of Iraq and the impact of the conflicts imposed on this country on its underdevelopment is a topic that was explained during a workshop initiated by the OFOHR research group and several other educational groups of the University of Isfahan. In this regard, Dr. Mohammad Ali Basiri, the head of the OFOHR research group and a faculty member of the University of Isfahan, took the initiative to deliver his speech in Arabic, focusing on the above subject.
At first, he emphasized the need to use a conceptual framework for the analysis of humanities studies, and then he focused on explaining the cultural and political characteristics of Iraq and stating the cases of human rights violations in this country and its relationship with concepts such as sustainable development.
Referring to America’s criminal actions after the 2003 attack on Iraq and Washington’s focus on destroying Iraq’s infrastructure, Dr. Basiri considered the country’s current unfavorable situation to be the result of this foreign interference.
Dr. Basiri stated at the end of this workshop that the goal of the United States is to implement the Iraq scenario in other countries of the region, including Iran, but in a different way and by feeding internal dissatisfactions in order to put pressure on the governments. Accordingly, the Middle Eastern countries should deal with the actions of this country by using legitimate and persuasive measures in the face of these dissatisfactions.
